Strengthening Gender in Business Engagement and Humanitarian Action in Asia Pacific

To mark International Women’s Day 2026, UN Women and the OCHA-UNDP Connecting Business Initiative (CBI) will convene a learning webinar on strengthening gender-responsive private sector engagement in humanitarian action. With women disproportionately affected in crises and private sector engagement in humanitarian response growing, the session examines practical Gender in Humanitarian (GiHA) entry points that improve coordination, accountability, and locally led humanitarian outcomes.

Framed around the theme, Rights. Justice. Action., this session will be a 60-minute, facilitated learning webinar for businesses, humanitarian practitioners, and gender specialists. Through guided discussion and real-world examples, participants will explore how gender-lens can be applied in business engagement across preparedness, response, and recovery. 

Technical inputs from UN Women and CBI Member Networks will focus on practical takeaways that support more inclusive, accountable, and coordinated humanitarian engagement.

OBJECTIVES

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

• Identify practical entry points for integrating gender-responsive approaches into business engagement models and humanitarian coordination mechanisms.

• Recognize the added value of applying GiHA principles in public–private collaboration, including improved accountability, inclusion, and effectiveness of humanitarian action.
