The CBI Annual Report 2024-2025 offers 10 stories to showcase the importance and potential of working hand-in-hand with the private sector in disaster management. These vignettes reflect the work of 20 CBI Member Networks in emergency preparedness, response, and recovery over the course of 18 months during which CBI and its partners responded to 54 crises, reached 9.9 million people, and mobilized USD29 million through in-kind and financial resources.
“At a time when the world needs more light, CBI and its partners bring nearly a decade of experience demonstrating the power of partnering with businesses as strategic, operational allies to save lives and protect livelihoods.”

UN Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator”
“As both Abraham Lincoln and Peter Drucker have been credited with saying, ‘The best way to predict the future is to create it.’ That’s exactly what CBI is working towards: co-creating a future where partnership with the private sector and investing in resilience are the norm, not the exception,” added Marcos Neto, UN Assistant Secretary-General and UNDP Associate Administrator and Director of the UNDP Bureau of Policy and Programme Support.
In the lead up to its 10th anniversary, CBI is poised to continue growing as a community and to catalyze systemic change.
“We want to bring people together through a collaborative approach that will move mountains when it comes to putting people first, catalysing business continuity and community resilience. We are incredibly excited about our renewed focus on localization. We are eager to showcase practical examples and lessons learned around early and anticipatory action. And we are ready to put the spotlight on post-disaster recovery efforts, too.”
